Professional Practice
Until 2011, David practised for over thirty years with an international law firm in the City of London, handling a wide range of maritime and offshore energy disputes. His experience extends from commercial ships, superyachts and military vessels to floating production units, drilling rigs and offshore wind energy. It includes carriage of goods, charterparties, drilling and other offshore service contracts, and the design, construction or conversion of ships, rigs and other fixed and floating structures.
A full-time arbitrator and CEDR-accredited mediator, he practises through Arbitrators at 10 Fleet Street and accepts appointments as sole or co-arbitrator (including as chair).
David is a member of the following: Baltic Exchange; IBA (Arbitration Committee, Oil and Gas Law Committee, Maritime and Transport Law Committee); Panel of International Arbitrators of KCAB (Korean Commercial Arbitration Board) International; LCIA European Users’ Council; Energy Arbitration Club; Energy Institute.
President of the LMAA 2021-2024.
