The 2019 Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 15 May at 4.30pm at The Baltic Exchange, 38 St Mary Axe, London, EC3A 8BH.

The LMAA Annual Seminar will follow the AGM starting at 5.30pm on Wednesday 15 May 2019 at the offices of The Baltic Exchange, 38 St Mary Axe, London, EC3A 8BH.

This year’s seminar will focus on three distinct topics, each of which has current and future implications, namely sulphur emission cap regulations, digitisation of shipping documentation and LMAA arbitration in relation to offshore disputes. 

Offering their insights into these issues with be Full Members, Lindsay Gordon and Trevor Harrison, Aspiring Full Member, David Steward, Supporting Member and Reader in Commercial Law at Queen Mary University, Miriam Goldby and Supporting Member, Global Head of Shipping at Hill Dickinson LLP and Chairman, Maritime London Innovation & Technology Group, Julian Clark.

Session 1:                   

1st Jan 2020 SOx Change - Lucrative Disputes Opportunity or Another Millennium Bug Non-Event? presented by Trevor Harrison with commentary by Tom Strang, Senior Vice President Maritime Affairs, Carnival Corporation & plc

Session 2:                   

“Blockchain bills of lading – is English law ready?” presented by Miriam Goldby with commentary by Julian Clark

Session 3:                   

The LMAA offshore: maritime arbitration in the energy patch” presented by David Steward and Lindsay Gordon

Time should allow for a short discussion of the issues arising out of the presentations.  You are then invited to join the President and the Committee for drinks and canapés after the event.

The seminar carries 1.5 CPD points.
