The Past President, Ian Gaunt, took part in the Webinar on the effect of Covid-19 on London dispute resolution organised by Maritime London and Quadrant Chambers.

It is clear that with steps put in place London maritime arbitration will continue to function much as before the crisis. However we have embraced the use of virtual hearings to prevent slippage. LMAA arbitrations are continuing to be conducted with minimal interruptions through virtual hearings and customary documents-only procedures. In future it may be expected that procedures adopted in the current crisis will continue to influence the conduct of dispute resolution, the most obvious example being the remote hearing of witness evidence.
