Peter Jago is a full-time arbitrator with over 36 years' experience of arbitration in the shipping and transport sector. He qualified as a solicitor in 1982 and worked in the London and Hong Kong offices of Sinclair Roche & Temperley in the 1980's. Peter joined MFB Solicitors in 1990 where he was a partner from 1992 until his retirement from the firm in 2017.

Peter received his first appointment as arbitrator in 2017 and has subsequently been appointed as arbitrator in numerous arbitrations, mainly under the LMAA rules, and also under the rules of the LCIA as well as in a number of ad hoc references. Peter has been appointed a sole arbitrator as well as a panel member and as Chair of the tribunal.

The majority of Peter's appointments have related to shipping and international trade, including disputes under charterparties, contracts of affreightment, bills of lading, shipbuilding and repair, ship sale and purchase, pool and slot agreements, freight forwarding, marine insurance and international sale of goods. However appointments also include broader commercial disputes such as mining and professional negligence.

Peter has been a full time arbitrator since September 2017.
