Dominic was called to the Bar in 1981. He took silk in 1997. He has been regularly appointed as sole arbitrator, party-appointed arbitrator or chairperson since 1997, and in 2025 he stopped acting as trial lawyer to become a full-time arbitrator. Throughout his career he has practised at 7, King’s Bench Walk, a leading shipping and insurance set, and as a KC, he appeared in some major shipping and insurance cases, including up to Supreme Court.

He now acts as arbitrator in a wide range of contractual disputes. The staple fare of his work both as counsel and as arbitrator has always been shipping and shipbuilding, offshore energy and construction, oil trading, commodity contracts, insurance, and general commercial disputes particularly where fraud has been alleged.

Dominic is deeply experienced in arbitrations conducted through the major arbitral institutions, notably LMAA, LCIA, ICC, ARIAS, DIAC, SIAT and UNCITRAL. He is also regularly appointed under contracts with ad hoc arbitration clauses.
