Institute of Maritime Law presents London – A safe haven for resolving disputes?
On 27 January 2017, the Institute of Maritime Law, University of Southampton held its first London event of 2017, a one-day seminar in conjunction with Reed Smith.
LMAA committee and full member, Ian Gaunt chaired the third of the four panel sessions of the day, the focus of which was arbitration. In that session, Sir Bernard Eder of Essex Court Chambers considered the respective merits of arbitration and litigation, whilst Professor Paul Todd of Southampton University considered the question ‘Who decides on the validity of an arbitration clause?’
